Quiz Night and Kayaking Challenge in aid of Home-Start
Home-Start in Waverley are very grateful to all the time and effort that Tom and Jessica Martin have put into raising much needed funds for our charity by putting on some fantastic fundraising events.
On Tuesday 1st April 2014 a great evening of fun was had at St Hilarys School in Godalming where a quiz took place. Teams of up to 6 people battled it out to win, whilst enjoying a fish and chip supper with wine and other drinks available from the bar. Tickets were £10 each and several hundred pounds were raised at the event. It was attended by Dolores Robertson, Home-Start in Waverley Scheme Manager.
On 26th April 2014, Tom took part in a Charity Kayak Challenge covering 20 miles along the River Wey from Weybridge to Godalming. This event was supporting by Go Godalming Canoe Club and Charterhouse Club. This was an amazing challenge for Tom as he had done next to no kayaking before. So far this event has raised over a £1000 for Home-Start in Waverley. So well done Tom! You can still donate money to this at the link below:
