The focus of Home-Start is to protect staff, volunteers and families in everything we do. As guidance changes and the pandemic develops, we have continued to offer support and comfort to many through remote, phone and socially distanced contact in outside environments. As community services begin to open out Trustees have assessed the support that we offer and have extended this to include meeting indoors in public and community buildings such as cafes.
In addition to this there is a limited offer to provide support to some families in their homes. This support will be assessed on an individual basis as it will not be suitable for all.
With thanks to our many funders including National Lottery, Children in Need, CAF Bank, Home-Start UK, Community Foundation Surrey, Surrey County Council, Garfield Weston, Sobell Foundation, Bill Mears Foundation, Waitrose, Tesco, and many more.
March 2020
At Home-Start in Waverley, we take the health and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and families very seriously and following recent Government guidance, we have decided to remove our staff from the office to home working and to postpone home-visits to families by both staff and volunteers for the time being.
We understand that self-isolation may bring additional concerns for families so where possible and where appropriate, a weekly phone call to families will be offered as an alternative to a home-visit.
We will continue to accept referrals and will contact families on receipt of the referral with a view to visit them once the Government guidance changes.
The office phone line will still be in use with messages being picked up throughout the day. Alternatively, you can contact us via email at: info@homestartwaverley.org
We appreciate your support and understanding during this challenging time.
